Chuba Akpom is considering pre-contract offers from European clubs before committing his future to Arsenal

Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom is reportedly considering pre-contract offers from clubs abroad as he enters the final months of his current deal.

According to the Telegraph, the England U20 striker, who is a free agent in the summer, is mulling over offers from Borussia Dortmund, Feyenoord and FC Twente before committing himself to a new deal with the Gunners.

Arsene Wenger is keen for him to remain with Arsenal, and the report claims that the club have offered him a new three-year contract, with the manager assuring him that he is part of his first-team plans for next season.

The 19-year-old striker, who has been with the Gunners since the age of six, has been prolific in the last couple of seasons for the academy and reserve teams scoring 15 goals in 23 appearances last season and nine goals in 10 games thus far this campaign. He also spent time on loan with Brentford and Coventry during the last campaign gaining valuable experience.

Akpom is looking to have more of a presence in the first-team, but with Danny Welbeck, Olivier Giroud, Yaya Sanogo ahead of him, it is unlikely that he will get too many chances.

However, with Joel Campbell, Sanogo and Lukas Podolski on loan for the rest of the season, and Welbeck struggling with injury, the young striker could get his chance to impress the manager and other interested clubs. Giroud will be the only recognised striker in the Arsenal ranks, even though they have Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott, who can play in that position.

Apart from the clubs abroad, the report claims that Premier League rivals, Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton are all keen on signing the young striker and are keeping an eye on proceedings regarding his contract extension with the north London club.
