Club Brugge take on Manchester United in the second leg of the Champions League play-off at Jan Breydelstadion on 26 August, Wednesday.

Where to Watch Live

Kick-off is at 7:45pmBST. Live coverage of the match will be available on BT Sport Europe.

Overview

United have an advantage as the first leg at Old Trafford saw the English club seal a 3-1 victory over Club Brugge. Summer signing Memphis Depay scored a brace, before providing an assist in the extra time as Marouane Fellaini scored a late header to extend the Red Devils' lead. Michael Carrick's first half own goal was the only consolation for the Belgium outfit.

Club Brugge need to score two goals and make sure they keep a clean sheet in order to progress to the group stages of the Champions League.

Avoiding defeat will see Louis van Gaal's side progress to the group stages. Even a draw would be sufficient for them to knock Brugge out of Europe's elite club competition. They have not reached the group stages of the Champions League since 2005/06 and Michel Preud'homme will be hoping he can help Brugge make it to the next round.

What They Say

Michel Preud'homme: "You have a small chance at home but it is going to be very difficult. We tried to play with our qualities, but we were missing a lot of players. If we have to miss our captain and central defender [for the second leg], with all our injured players, I don't see the solution to beat Manchester United."

Louis van Gaal: "Yes it is a difficult ground, and it is not a simple opponent. I have read in the papers in England that it is simple and it is a walkover, but it isn't like that. Every team that comes, such as Brugge against Panathinaikos, they won 3-0 [in the previous round]. It is still a game, but because of the last goal we now have more confidence."
