Three people have been arrested outside Taylor Swift's beachfront home in Rhode Island after allegedly attacking her security staff with beer bottles, US police said.

Michael Horrigan, 29, his roommate Tristan Kading, 28, and Emily Kading, 26, of Stonington, Connecticut, were taken into police custody accused of throwing bottles and shouting expletives at staff, according to the Westerly Sun.

It is thought that authorities identified them with the help of a photo taken on a mobile phone.

Swift was not at home at the time of the incident.

The three were charged with breaching the peace and are expected to appear in court at a later date.

The incident comes just weeks after the I Knew You Were Trouble songstress secured a restraining order against a stalker, who threatened a killing rampage if anybody ruined his "marriage" to Swift.

Timothy Sweet, who bombarded the beauty with emails, letters and social media posts for over three years, has been ordered to stay 100 yards away from her and three members of her family.
