A busy window is set to continue at Anfield as Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish continues to add to his major spending in the January transfer window. Liverpool are looking at tying up deals for a Celtic midfielder as well as a defender who helped Udinese qualify for the Champions League. There are also rumours today that Liverpool's deal for their top target this summer could be hijacked by Aston Villa and a deal to ship out a left back is nearly done. Here are the best transfer rumours from Liverpool.

With the deal to take Charlie Adam to Liverpool stuttering at the end of last week, new Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish is set to hijack the bid in an attempt to bring the Scotland international to Villa Park. Liverpool have yet to negotiate a price with Blackpool or meet with their Adam or his representatives and Aston Villa, armed with a £40m war chest for the summer look set to hijack the deal. Aston Villa will bid the £9m that Blackpool have valued the player at; given the fact that Alex McLeish gave Adam his debut at Ibrox and for Scotland, there is a belief at Villa Park that they can get their man.

Liverpool have a back-up target if any deal for Charlie Adam does fall through. A source close to Anfield claim the Merseyside club are set to test Celtic's resolve and swoop for South Korean star Ki Sung-Yueng. The Korean midfielder has become an integral part of Neil Lennon's plans at Celtic Park but a big money move could force the debt ridden club to sell. The 22 year old has been on Liverpool's radar ever since his January 2010 move to Celtic and Kenny Dalglish believes the Celtic man as the ability to help turn Liverpool's fortunes around. Despite the signing of Jordan Henderson, Dalglish is said to be looking for another midfielder and if any deal for Adam does fall through, Liverpool will make a move for the South Korean.

Columbian international, Cristian Zapata is said to be open to a switch from to Anfield. The Udinese defender has spoken of his desire to join Liverpool but he claims he has had offers from other clubs in England as well as Spain. Zapata was a formidable force in the Udinese side that qualified for next seasons Champions League and Liverpool are said to be keen on the defender. The Merseyside club are short of defensive options with the continuing injury problems to Daniel Agger and a move for Zapata could be imminent.

Anfield flop, Paul Kochesky is set to be close to the Liverpool exit door with Wolves close to agreeing a deal for the left back. The defender, signed from Fulham for £3.5m in the summer, had a torrid start to life at Anfield with Kenny Dalglish loaning him out to Nottingham Forrest for the second half of the season. Wolves will be able to sign the defender for a fraction of the £.3.5m Liverpool paid for Konchesky's and the left back is keen to end his Anfield nightmare.
