Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo feels Radamel Falcao is a fantastic signing for Manchester United.

The Red Devils confirmed the signing of the Colombia international striker Falcao on transfer deadline day and he was unveiled post the 11pm deadline.

The AS Monaco striker has signed on a season-long loan with an option of a permanent move next summer.

The former United player and club legend Ronaldo feels that the Premier League club have done a great piece of business and believes that the former Atletico Madrid striker will improve the club and help them perform better this coming season.

"He is very good player. I think Manchester did very well. I don't think he is the wrong type of player. He is a top player so I don't think it is a wrong buy," Ronaldo said, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

"I think he will be a fantastic buy. Manchester have not started well, two points, so they need quality players and Falcao is a quality player," the Real forward added.

The 29-year-old Colombian forward was highly coveted on transfer deadline day and was linked to a host of clubs including Real, Arsenal and Manchester City before he decided to move to Old Trafford for the rest of the season.

The Telegraph report claims, United have shelled out a lot of cash to land the forward ahead of the other interested clubs and will pay him a fee of around £265,000-a-week and they will also pay Monaco a loan fee of £6m for the season.

The signing of Falcao from the Ligue 1 club took the Manchester club's summer spend over £150m.
