Police have arrested a 14-year-old boy on suspicion of attempted murder after a teacher was stabbed this morning, (11 June).

West Yorkshire Police were alerted by the ambulance service at around 8.55am to a report the 50-year-old from Dixons Kings Academy had been stabbed in the stomach with a knife. He is in a stable condition in hospital with his family and friends at his bedside.

The boy lashed out during a science lesson in front of other pupils. He was arrested in Bradford city centre later today following an extensive search.

Police said the victim's injuries were not life threatening.
