Overview

Federer has an impressive record in the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships as the Swiss star has won it in five occasions so far. The 32-year-old won the competition last time in 2012 and will be looking to extend the tally this year.

The World No 8 managed to seal a place in the last eight after he defeated Radek Stepanek in the second round of the competition. Federer won the first set, but lost the second one in a tie breaker. However, he bounced back in the third set to win the tie 6-2, 6- 7, 6-3.

Meanwhile, Rosol made it to the quarter finals after registering a win over Dmitry Tursunov 6-4, 7-6. The upset has seen the Czech Republican seal a place in last eight as he takes on Federer on Thursday.

Rosol would be looking for another upset to seal a place in the semi finals. However, he is aware of the tough task ahead of him as he is set to take on the former World No 1 at the Centre Court.

Head-To-Head

Federer has never faced Rosol in any of the competitive tennis tournament. It will be for the first time the two will face each other on Thursday.
