Berdych sealed a place in the last eight of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships after registering a comfortable victory over Sergiy Stakhovsky. The World No 6 sealed a straight set victory as the tie ended in two sets 6-2, 6-1.

Berdych will be hoping to stop the World No 10 from making progress in the ongoing event. However, he will be aware that Tsonga will give his best in order to seal a place in the semi-finals.

Tsonga booked a place in the quarter-finals after Nikolay Davydenko withdrew from the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships due to an injury. This saw the Frenchman make progress even without playing in the second round.

The 28-year-old defeated Romania's Victor Hanescu in the first round in straight sets 6-2, 6-4. A victory on Thursday at the Centre Court will see Tsonga make it to the final four of the competition.
