Nintendo appears to have accidentally leaked five new Amiibo figurines - including four based on Animal Crossing characters - ahead of E3 2015.

Nintendo Everything reports that an email sent out from Nintendo of Spain revealed the Amiibo, which has figurines for an 8-Bit Mario and Animal Crossing characters Tom Nook, KK Slider, Isabelle and Mabel. A NeoGAF post backs this up with the high-quality image above.

The image can also be found on Nintendo of Europe's servers, here.

While there's no confirmation of this, the 8-Bit Mario is likely a tie-in for upcoming Wii U title Mario Maker while the others will likely be compatible with Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer on 3DS, which is set for release later this year in Western territories.

However, they also open up the likelihood that Nintendo is set to announce a new Animal Crossing game for Wii U at E3.

All will officially be revealed during Nintendo's E3 Direct online broadcast this Tuesday (16 June).

Amiibo have been hugely successful for Nintendo since they were introduced in 2014 and will play a major role in their E3 plans. IBTimes UK has run down what to expect from Nintendo at E3 and offered our five hopes for what they have in store.
