Former EastEnders star Danniella Westbrook has declared that she will "always be an addict", after confessing a few days earlier to a relapse and that she has taken the drug "six times" since April.

In a candid interview with The Sun, the 40-year-old, whose nasal septum collapsed as a result of her snorting the drug, said her setback has left her terrified.

"I do need help. I don't have a choice. I will always be an addict and I'm never going to be able to take drugs recreationally," she told the newspaper.

"I'm a bit frightened to say I will never do it again [but] I don't think I will because I am absolutely fricking petrified. But I said no last time and look where it got me."

She is now hoping that a three-month stint in rehab and her faith will help her get back on track.

"Cocaine is a very lonely drug. You can't have a relationship when you are 100% a cocaine addict, which I was before.

"It just made me feel s**t about myself."

Westbrook said that after 12 years of being clean, breaking up with her boyfriend Tom Richards, 24, left her heartbroken and she flew to Magaluf for drugs and had sex with her dealer.

At the height of her £400-a day addiction in the late 1990s Westbrook was sacked from her role as Sam Mitchell on EastEnders.

In 2012, Westbrook admitted during an appearance on The Jeremy Kyle Show that she snorted cocaine while she was in labour and just 10 minutes after her son was born.

"I asked people to leave the delivery room after I'd given birth so I could have a line," she told Kyle.
