When Microsoft bought Minecraft and developers Mojang for $2.5 billion (£1.5bn) earlier this month fans were split over whether the deal was good or bad for the future of the series.

Minecraft has been a worldwide phenomenon since its release in 2011, selling in excess of 55 million copies worldwide. A whole generation of children have grown up with the block-based building and exploration game, but what will Microsoft do with the franchise?

We went to the EGX trade show at London's Earls Court to ask those in attendance what they made of the deal.
