A mother was killed in Wales in the early hours of Saturday morning after asking neighbours across the road to turn down their music.

Emma Jones, 31, the mother of a disabled son, died from stab wounds in Penygroes, North Wales, and was pronounced dead in hospital.

Alwen Eluned Jones, 23, from the neighbouring village of Llanllyfni, has been charged with murdering Miss Jones and is due to appear in Caernarfon Magistrates' Court today.

Residents in the normally quiet community have been left shocked by the incident.

"To be stabbed to death simply for asking someone to turn down the music at a house party is shocking and awful," one of them said.

Tributes to the mother have been left on Facebook.

One of them said: "I still find it totaly shocking that a woman has taken another woman's life and a little boy's mummy away. It is a bad world we are living in. All the best to Emma's family and friends xxx."

A man and women were also arrested in connection to the incident but have been released without charge.
