Ryan Gosling is believed to be back on the market after calling time on his two-year romance with Eva Mendes.
The Hollywood hunk and the actress are believed to have split over Christmas when they realised that they wanted different things.
The Notebook star, 33, was allegedly keen to get hitched and start a family while Mendes wanted to focus on her career.
"There is no ill will," a source told InTouch magazine. "Neither is rushing out to date other people right now.
"They started having problems back in September, and they decided to quietly call it off for good around Christmas."
The insider added: "Eva loves Hollywood, the parties, the glamour. She loves going out."
The couple, who started dating in 2011 after getting close on the set of their film The Place Beyond The Pines, have not been seen together since late last year.
Before their split they were regularly seen out and about in Los Angeles walking Eva's dog Hugo.
Mendes recently sparked speculation that she was pregnant with Gosling's baby after she refused to go through an electric body scanner when she arrived at the Los Angeles airport.
Her representative later rubbished the pregnancy reports saying: "She has never gone through the scanners at the airport; she has always elected to be hand-checked instead."
