Florida father threw five-year-old daughter off bridge into Gulf of Mexico

A Florida man killed his five-year-old daughter when he tossed her into the Gulf of Mexico off Dick Misener Bridge.

The man, who has not been named, threw her off the bridge, in St Petersburg, on Thursday night after pulling her out the car he was driving.

He was seen driving at about 100mph along the bridge by a St Petersburg police officer who was driving home just after midnight, CNN reported.

But when the car neared the top of the bridge, the driver stopped and threw the girl over the rail and into the water.

The father was later arrested and a police launched a search to find the girl. Her body was later recovered.

Police were questioning the father and have not disclosed his motive.
