Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo was the second fastest on a wet track on Saturday's qualifying at Albert Park, trailing Hamilton by 1.083s. Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso will start from fifth with a time of 1:45.819.

Meanwhile, defending champion and Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel will start Sunday's race from 13th place while Kimi Raikkonen is 12th.
