Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg was the fastest during Friday's Free Practice 2 and will take the top spot for the qualifying leg of the 2014 Malaysia Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit.

The third free practice begins at 5am GMT, while the qualifying session starts at 8am GMT. Sky Sports F1 and Sky Sports F1 HD will provide live coverage of both events in the UK.

Practice Review

The German driver was the third fastest in Free Practice 1, losing the top spot to his teammate Lewis Hamilton. However, Rosberg regained his Australian Grand Prix form at Sepang as he was the fastest during the second practice session, clocking a time of 1:39.909s.

The British star Mercedes driver will start Saturday's qualifying round from fourth place. Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen was the second fastest during the first practice session and was successful in maintaining the same position in FP2.

Defending champion and Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel was third after clocking a time of 1:39.970s. Fernando Alonso with his Ferrari will start qualifying from fifth while McLaren's Jenson Button managed to finish in the top 10 as he was the eight fastest in Free Practice 2.
