TV weatherman Fred Talbot has been re-arrested on suspicion of sexual offences, relating to his time as a teacher at a school in Greater Manchester.

Talbot, 63, was arrested on suspicion of indecent assaults and buggery in relation to five former pupils at the Altrincham Grammar School for Boys.

Talbot, who was best known for presenting the weather on a floating map of the UK on ITV's This Morning in the 90s, was also held on suspicion of indecent assault offences alleged to have occurred in the North East of England.

Talbot was previously arrested on 9 April over allegations of abuse against former pupils at the school, where he taught biology.

Police said they were keen to trace pupils who attended the school in the 1970s and 80s.

He remains on police bail in relation to one count of indecent assault, but will face no further action in relation to the other original offences, Greater Manchester Police have said.

Altrincham Grammar came under the spotlight for detectives after an investigation at nearby St Ambrose College in November, which culminated in a 63-year-old former teacher being held on suspicion of indecent assault and possession of indecent images.
