Freddie Starr is facing further questioning by police after being released on bail in the early hours of the morning.

He was arrested yesterday in relation to Operation Yewtree, the investigation into claims that Jimmy Savile "and others" sexually abused numerous young people.

Starr was arrested yesterday over allegations that he sexually abused an under-age girl in the 1970s.

A statement from the Metropolitan Police Service said: "The man arrested yesterday, 1 November, in connection with Operation Yewtree has returned on bail and is currently being interviewed.

"The individual, aged in his 60s and from Warwickshire, was arrested on suspicion of sexual offences."

Starr has previously denied allegations that he groped a 14-year-old girl in Jimmy Savile's BBC dressing room.

At present, police have identified 300 potential victims of 'Savile and others' and are following over 400 lines of inquiry.
