Game of Thrones Season 4 Episode 9 titled The Watchers on the Wall airs tonight (June 8) on HBO, and this season's penultimate episode promises to feature an epic battle the likes of which have never been seen on television before.
Author George R R Martin wrote the following about the upcoming episode on his official blog:
Battle Is Coming, Blood Will Flow.
Tomorrow night, on HBO. Neil Marshall returns, with a battle even bigger than "Blackwater." Should rival or surpass any battle ever seen before on television. Keep your swords sharp.
And be afraid. Be very afraid.

The battle of Blackwater in Season 2's penultimate episode was superbly handled by director Neil Marshall and now fans' expectations are going to be huge as he returns with the upcoming episode which will feature the Battle of Castle Black - a battle between the wildlings and the Night's Watch.
The official synopsis for this week's episode The Watchers on the Wall is as follows: "Jon Snow and the rest of the Night's Watch face the biggest challenge to the Wall yet."

The episode title is the oath sworn by Night's Watch recruits: "I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the shield that guards the realms of men." The title hints that the Wall will be defended, reports Christian Today.
The episode might also take forward (or put an end) to the Jon Snow and Ygritte love affair. The following still shows Ygritte in battle mode and while she may have gone easy on Jon the last time, it remains to be seen what transpires between the estranged lovers this time.

According to Entertainment Weekly, The Watchers on the Wall episode will entirely be dedicated to the Battle of Castle Black which means fans will have to wait until the Game of Thrones Season 4 finale to learn about Tyrion Lannister's fate following the end of The Mountain and the Viper.
