Gavin DeGraw has been hospitalised after being attacked by a group of men in New York.

Police say that the 34-year-old singer suffered a broken nose and cuts to his face after he was beaten by 'unknown attackers' early on Sunday morning after a night out with friends reports the Daily Mail.

According to TMZ, DeGraw was 'outnumbered by several people' during the attack.

The New York Daily News are reporting that the Degraw was then hit by a cab after the attack, although was not seriously injured in the accident.

A representative for the star said he is still under observation in Bellevue Hospital tonight after being taken there by ambulance.

He is said to be in 'stable condition'

The cause of the attack, which occurred in the city's East Village, is unknown. A representative for the 34-year-old DeGraw issued a statement saying, "Gavin DeGraw was assaulted late Sunday night and taken to the emergency room at Bellevue Hospital by ambulance. He is currently under observation."

The singer most famous for his song "I Don't Want To Be" selected as the theme song for drama "One Tree Hill", has been forced to cancel upcoming concert on Tuesday night in Saratoga Springs, New York.
