The £130 priced Karbonn Sparkle V Android One Smartphone Amazon UK

The Google Android 5.1 (Lollipop) operating system update is now available for users of the Karbonn Sparkle V via over-the-air mechanism.

The Android 5.1 OS firmware update has started seeding to Karbonn Sparkle V smartphones in India, FoneArena reported.

The Karbonn Sparkle V falls under the Google's low-cost Android One smartphones initiative, which is available in the United Kingdom for £121.12 ($180).

This means that Android 5.1 update could soon be released for Karbonn Sparkle V users in the UK as well.

Earlier this month, the update was released for Micromax Canvas A1 users.

According to the FoneArena report, users of the Sparkle V Android One stock smartphone should observe the Android 5.1 via OTA, in the form of a 410MB file. The latest roll-out is expected to be take place in a phased manner, hence the software should take some time to reach all users.

New enhancements brought along by Android 5.1:

  • Multiple SIM-card support
  • Return of silent mode
  • Device protection
  • High-definition (HD) voice calling
  • Quick Settings menu that lets users join Wi-Fi networks and control paired Bluetooth smartphones directly.

Prior to the roll-out, the Karbonn Sparkle V ran the now legacy Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating platform; out of the box.

Karbonn Sparkle V users can check for the Android 5.1 OTA notification or could search for it manually by navigating to Settings > About Phone > Software Update.
