Fox network's new series Gotham based on the early days of Batman (Bruce Wayne) is all set for a grand premiere on Monday.
The most anticipated thriller series is based on the pre-Batman Gotham focussing on Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Detective Bullock (David Mazouz).
The duo is expected to solve the mystery deaths of Thomas and Martha Wayne, young Bruce's parents.
For Batman diehards, who are hibernating since the last Batman movie and are awaiting the upcoming flick Batman V Superman, there is reason to rejoice. They will see how their favourite character Bruce went on to develop his alter ego into a super hero and saviour of Gotham city.
The series will also focus on the origin of the popular villains and enemies of the future Batman including, the Catwoman, Riddler and Penguin.
The synopsis of the pilot episode of the Batman prequel series reads: "Rookie detective James Gordon battles villains and corruption in the premiere of this action-adventure series set in pre-Batman Gotham City."
The second episode of the debut series is titled 'Selina Kyle' and will reportedly focus on the Catwoman and a major child trafficking racket.
The official synopsis of episode 2 via Flickeringmyth reads:
"Detectives Gordon and Bullock investigate a child trafficking ring preying on Gotham's street kids, including Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova). Meanwhile, Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) resurfaces in the countryside and begins to make his way back to GOTHAM."
