Along with Dr Preston Burke, season 10 of Grey's Anatomy will also feature another familiar face – one of Derek Shepherd's sisters.
According to a TV Guide report, Caterina Scorsone will reprise her role as Private Practice's Amelia Shepherd.
Scorsone plays a neurosurgeon and Derek's younger sister. Amelia also struggled with substance abuse following the death of their father.
The 32-year-old is set to appear in a couple of episodes airing in May. She has been on the show twice before. More details regarding her return haven't been released, reports Enstars.
The actress has expressed her desire to reappear on Grey's Anatomy after Private Practice ended in 2013.
"That would be wonderful," she previously told TVGuide.com. "They have been so good to me here in Shondaland, if they ever wanted me to come and do a guest spot or anything - cook a soufflé - I would do anything."
Isaiah Washington is also returning to the show as Dr Preston Burke for one episode in May.
"His appearance will play a significant role in the departure of Sandra Oh's character, Dr Cristina Yang, at the end of the season," states the Enstars report.
"It's important to me that Cristina's journey unfolds exactly as it should," said show creator Shonda Rhimes in a statement. "Burke is vital to that journey - he gives her story that full-circle moment we need to properly say goodbye to our beloved Cristina Yang."
Grey's Anatomy Season 10 Episode 16, We Gotta Get Out of This Place, airs on 20 March.
