Editor of Harper's Bazaar UK, Lucy Yeomans, announced the winners of the Women of the Year Awards for 2011 on Monday evening.

The fashion-forward affair took place at London's Claridge's Hotel in Mayfair, and celebrated women who have inspired and influenced us most in 2011.

Recipients of the award were recognised for their outstanding achievements across the arts, fashion, design and music fields. Categories for the awards included Inspiration of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award and a special award for Man in a Woman's World.

The night also saw the premiere of Girl Panic, a short film by Duran Duran, shot by Jonas Akerlund, starring supermodels Naomi Campbell, Helena Christiansen, Eva Herzigova, Yasmin Le Bon and Cindy Crawford.

The 'supers' were collectively awarded Fashion Icons of the Year and were reunited by Harper's Bazaar for its December cover. The supermodels created a huge stir in the UK and U.S. fashion and online media when some behind-the-scenes images were leaked on the internet that same month.

Jessie J featured in this month's issue of Harper's Bazaar after being announced as the Breakthrough of the Year award recipient, and spoke about her highlight for the year. "Winning a Brit award - for me, that moment of collecting it onstage was when my career started."

The pop singer also told Harper's Bazaar that her goals for 2012 are "to write an equally good follow-up album, to do more for charity and to take my niece and nephews to swim with dolphins."

Honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award, Dame Judi Dench recalled her best career moment for the magazine, saying her first job being cast in Hamlet was the role she was most fond of.

Other notable guests at the awards evening included Bianca Jagger, Elle Macpherson, Laura Bailey, Lily Cole, Natalia Vodianova, Sarah Burton, among others.
