The fans of LG G3's Smart Keyboard now has a reason to cheer. After successfully porting LG G3's new keyboard on the LG G2, recognised XDA developer Cloudyfa has shared the flashable zip file and APK file to install the same in other Android powered devices.

The new keyboard can be installed on the devices running stock Android KitKat firmware or custom ROM based on that. It has been tested to be working on devices such as HTC One M8, LG G2, Nexus 5 and Galaxy Note 3.

Pre-requisites

  • Any Android devices running Android 4.4 KitKat or above or any custom firmware based on it.
  • The phone should be rooted and have BusyBox.
  • The device should have CWM or TWRP recovery installed for flashing zip.

How to Install LG G3 Keyboard APK File

Step-1: Download the LG G3 keyboard APK file to the computer

Step-2: Connect your phone to the computer using USB cable then copy APK file to the phone

Step-3: Install BusyBox app, as the app requires system mount. After the BusyBox is installed, open the app and tap Install button

Step-4: Navigate to phone's Settings>> Security and enable Unknown sources

Step-5: Browse to the location where you have saved LG G3 keyboard apk file using a file manger and tap on it to install

Step-6: Once the app is installed, open it and tap Install button

Step-7: Open Language and input settings and select LG Keyboard as default keyboard.

How to Flash LG G3 Keyboard Zip via Recovery

Note: If installing APK is not successful, try the flashable zip for LG G3 keyboard.

Step-1: Copy the Cloudy_G3Keyboard.zip file to your phone

Step-2: Boot the phone into recovery mode

Step-3: Ensure that you have backed up the current firmware

Step-4: For TWRP recovery- tap the Install button, select the flashable zip and confirm installation by swiping the slider. When the installation is completed, wipe dalvik cache then select Reboot system

Step-5: For those of you who are using CWM recovery, select install zip from sdcard and then select the zip and confirm installation by selecting Yes. Once the installation is completed, wipe dalvik cache and select reboot system now to reboot the phone

Step-6: Wait for some time until the phone boots up successfully the navigate to Settings>> Language and input and select the keyboard.

You are now having LG G3 keyboard on your Android device.
