With the availability of the latest stock Android Lollipop update for the Nvidia Shield Tablet, developers have brought out the root access for the gaming device. Junior XDA developer, sandrodjay, has shared a rooting method and simplified it for a hassle-free process, which was originally posted by SuperPichu.

If you wish to gain root access on your Nvidia Shield Tablet using SuperSU root file, check out the following guide. Along with rooting, this method also installs CWM recovery on the tablet.

Points to remember

  • Create a backup of all important data of the tablet before following the root process.
  • The Shied Tablet should have above 80% battery charge.
  • Rooting the tablet will void the device of its manufacturer's warranty. Unlocking the Fastboot might void the warranty as it will display when you will unlock it.
  • The following process and the files used in this only work with Nvidia Shield Tablet. Applying this on any other device could damage the device.
  • Rooting the tablet will be at your own risk.
  • IBTimes UK will not be held liable for any damage to the device.
