The 2016 Fifa Futsal World Cup has reached its final leg as Portugal take on Iran for the third-place finish at Coliseo El Pueblo, Cali on 1 October, Saturday. After losing their respective semi-final fixtures, these two sides will face each other and the winner of the clash will finish third in the tournament.

Portugal, who finished on top of Group A, ahead of host nation Colombia went on to beat Costa Rica 4-0 in the Round of 16 and a close finish against Azerbaijan in the quarter-final. The match ended in Portugal's favour as they won the tie 3-2.

Portugal's best finish in the tournament was in third-place in the 2000 Futsal World Cup, where they managed to beat Russia. Iran's best finish has been in fourth place, when they lost to Spain in 1992.

Iran and Portugal lost to Russia and Argentina in the respective semi-final fixtures, which has forced them to face each other in the third-place finish on Saturday.
