Arturo Vidal

Javier Hernandez´s agent has refused to deny that negotiations have taken place between Manchester United and Juventus over a swap deal that will see Arturo Vidal move to Old Trafford and the Mexican striker go the other way in part-exchange.

Following the arrivals of both Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw earlier in the summer, Van Gaal has reportedly earmarked the Juventus midfielder as his top priority before the end of the transfer window.

According to Chilean newspaper La Tercera, the Premier League giants are planning a record £40m bid plus Hernandez to secure Vidal's services - while reports in Italy claim Juventus are demanding £50m for their biggest star.

Questioned about an eventual swap deal, Hernandez's agent Eduardo Hernandez said: "For now there are just rumours so I can not explain the situation.

"I still have no news over an eventual swap deal as it has said in England. But soon we have to have news."

Mexico national team coach Miguel Herrera has advised Chicharito to make the move to the Serie A giants after starting just six Premier League games last season.

"I think [Chicharito] needs to leave, I think [Juventus] would be a good option for him. When a coach doesn't want you - when you have your best experience, your best moment with them, and now the coach that wanted you is no longer there - it's time to move," Herrera told ESPN.

Meanwhile, according to La Tercera, Vidal´s agent Fernando Felicevich remains in England after being spotted at Wembley during Arsenal's 3-0 victory over Manchester City in the Community Shield.

Even though he was said to be there to support his client Alexis Sanchez, recent reports in Italy claimed that he took advantage of his visit to England to meet with Louis Van Gaal and finalise Vidal's move to Old Trafford.
