Booty singer Jennifer Lopez has been accused of faking her break-up from dancer Casper Smart as a "business move" to promote their movie releases.

The 45-year-old singer was pictured kissing Smart, 27, while backstage at American Idol on 25 March, appearing to confirm their rekindled romance. However, TMZ reports that the On The Floor hitmaker and her toyboy have secretly remained a couple since announcing their split in June 2014.

Sources have reportedly told the website that Lopez needed to promote her recent thriller, Boy Next Door, and was told by producers that it would sell more tickets if she was single and could be linked to her co-star, Ryan Guzman.

Dancer and actor Smart allegedly had the same idea while filming UFC fighter movie, Street, around the same time. According to the website, Smart was told that he would seem more appealing to audiences if he improved his physique and was single.

Rather coincidentally, the on/off couple have been spotted together multiple times since their reported split. In August 2014, the Love Don't Cost A Thing singer was caught in the passenger seat of Smart's car but when she saw the paparazzi, he raised the roof on the vehicle and she slid down out of view.

Then, in January 2015, the police were reportedly called when a dog, which is believed to belong to Smart, bit Lopez's neighbour and the dancer is said to have emerged from the singer's house to rush to the scene.

The following month, Casper attended a GQ party in Hollywood and Lopez was reportedly seen waiting for him in a car after the event.

In June 2014, it was revealed that the couple had split after more than two years of dating. In the weeks prior, allegations had mounted that Smart had cheated on the singer with multiple women.

Neither have responded to the faked break-up allegations.
