After getting a walkover in the third round, Nishikori came into the fourth round even stronger to register a comfortable victory over Teymuraz Gabashvili. The world number one sealed the match in no time after winning it in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, 6-2.
Despite playing only three matches, the 25-year-old is yet to drop a single set and the Japanese tennis star will be hoping he can continue his impressive form for the quarter final clash.
Meanwhile, Tsonga comes into this fixture after a victory over Tomas Berdych in the fourth round. After winning the first two sets, he had a scare as Berdych won the third set on a tie breaker.
However, the Frenchman made no mistake to seal the match by winning the fourth set and winning the tie 6-3, 6-2, 6-7, 6-3. After eliminating Berdych, Tsonga has emerged as a favourite for this clash and support from the local fans will surely help him make it to the semifinal by defeating Nishikori.
