Singer Kesha's mother has now checked into the same rehabilitation centre where her daughter is seeking treatment.

"This whole Dr Luke thing has almost torn our family apart and taken over my life, and Kesha wants me to heal along with her. I'm checking myself into Timberline Knolls today for post-traumatic stress disorder, at Kesha's urging," her mother stated.

According to reports, Kesha had previously told her friends that her eating disorder was caused by her music producer, Lukasz Sebastian "Dr Luke" Gottwald. He reportedly repeatedly called her a "fat f**king refrigerator".

Three months after she signed with him she had been dieting and [Dr Luke] told her she wasn't in shape enough, her mother said.

"Kesha was dieting and she became bulimic. I remember over a period of a few months she got really skinny and she said she was running Runyon Canyon and just eating well. The truth is she was throwing up. I didn't know until much later because she said she would quit. It's gotten worse recently because after the 'refrigerator' comment, which was about a year ago," she added.

Pepe Serbert also shot down rumours that her daughter went to rehab for alcoholism, insisting Kesha was suffering from bulimia — not alcohol or drug addiction.

"That's a total lie. The place she's at is an eating-disorder center," Serbert said.

"She might have a few drinks here and there, but she doesn't have a drinking problem," she added.

"I'm a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself but I've found it hard to practice.I'll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder ... to learn to love myself again. Exactly as I am," Kesha told People when she entered Timberline Knolls near Chicago.
