Police officers from Operation Grange are set to conclude a series of interviews about missing Madeleine McCann and question Robert Murat for a second time.

Eleven people have been quizzed at Faro police station in the Portuguese Algarve, including British ex-pat Murat.

Murat is not a suspect in the operation and is classified as a witness. Police ran out of time to question him on Wednesday (10 December).

The IT consultant was the first suspect in the case of Madeleine's disappearance in 2007. That status was removed a year later. Murat won a huge libel award from British newspapers over coverage of the case.

Murat told the Guardian his conscience was clear and he was happy to speak with police, earlier this month.
