A lucky few got to view the first Batman v Superman trailer which was shown at the 2014 Comic Con, but a majority of fans eager to see the trailer are waiting to know when it will officially release. Well, here's an update on that:

On Monday the official Warner Bros Portugal Facebook account announced that the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Comic-Con trailer would be released soon. The rough Bing translation read (via Batman-news.com):

"Chris Hardwick took a selfie with superheroes Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman) and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) on stage at the San Diego Comic-Con, where it was revealed the first teaser trailer that we will share with you soon."

So does that mean the trailer will be back online soon? Well, not really. It seems that the person in charge of that WB Portugal Facebook account misspoke.

According to Sue Kroll, president of worldwide marketing and international distribution at Warner Bros, the Comic Con trailer was only part of a "presentation," reports Variety.

"That's just going to live in that hall. We'll post extended trailers and stills, but that presentation, that was just for those fans", she said when asked about the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice footage that was shown at Comic-Con.

Here's a detailed description of the first trailer that managed to leak online but was later pulled down by Warner Bros (via comicbookmovie.com):

Set at night, in pouring rain, it begins on a rooftop with Ben Affleck's Batman – in souped-up armour much like he wields in Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns, including glowing eyes – pulling a tarpaulin off the Batsignal. It shines into the sky, and then – illuminated against the clouds, flecked with lightning, standing inside the symbol, is Henry Cavill's Superman. And he does not look happy, his eyes glowing red with burgeoning heat vision ray.

The camera tracks in on Batman's face as he grimaces... and cut to black. No dialogue at this point, so there's no idea of what Affleck sounds like as Batman, or indeed a wider sense of the story, but the message is clear: Clark and Bruce are going to face off, and Bruce has enhanced his Batsuit to compensate for the most powerful man alive.
