Manchester City take on Crystal Palace in a weekend Premier League clash at the Etihad on Saturday, 16 January.

Where to watch

Kick-off is at 3pm GMT. Catch the highlights of the game on Match of the Day on BBC One and BBC One HD at 10:25pm GMT.

Overview

Manchester City enter the fixture after a disappointing goalless draw at the hands of Everton in front of their home fans in the Premier League clash. Manuel Pellegrini has admitted his side's style of play is unpredictable.

The Citizens will be looking to bounce back with a victory over the Eagles following the draw against the Merseyside club. Sergio Aguero will be looking to find the back of the net at the Etihad in order to help City seal three points on Saturday.

Palace come into the fixture after a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Aston Villa, who have had a poor run in the league this season. Their last victory in the league was against Stoke City on 19 December and they are without a win in the England's top flight club competition for close to a month

Alan Pardew has seen his side struggle in the last five matches played in all competitions as they have managed only one win, which came during the FA Cup, where they went on to defeat Southampton 2-1 at St Mary's Stadium. The visitors will be looking to bounce back when they face City this weekend.

What manager says

Manuel Pellegrini: "One of the things this team is not is predictable – we have so many ways of playing. We continue being the highest scorers in the Premier League for the last three seasons. Not only at home, but away we also try to be an offensive team."

Alan Pardew: "We looked short of energy and cohesion, and maybe the fact that our offensive players are all struggling to come back to full fitness was shown up. We've been getting away with it a little bit, but against Villa we didn't."
