Shocking footage emerged last night of the moment Miss Selfridge was set fire to in Manchester city centre by a youth.

Mobile video phone footage shows a hooded youth standing by the smashed shop window moments before the store bursts into flames, the fire quickly engulfs a red dress on a mannequin in the display.

Photos taken minutes later show the entire store consumed by the fire.

The incident occurred in the city centre as hundreds of rioters went on the rampage which first spawned in north-London arrears.

The fire was later put out.
