Angel di Maria is excited at the prospect of leaving Manchester United and signing for Paris Saint-Germain this summer after completing his medical with the Ligue 1 side.

The winger made his way to Old Trafford for an English record fee of £59.7m ($93m), but failed to live up to expectations as he struggled to adjust to life in Manchester and the rigours of the Premier League. Both clubs have reportedly agreed a €63m (£44m, $69m) fee for the former Real Madrid man, cutting the losses on his move to Manchester last summer.

The Argentine failed to report to United's pre-season training in the US, according to the Daily Mail, following an extended holiday after his exertions in the Copa America, where Argentina was beaten in the final by Chile. it will be a major blow for the Red Devils, who will be losing their most creative player from the previous campaign, with Di Maria managing 10 assists, second only to Cesc Fabregas in the league.

However, Di Maria's performance in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, where he was sent off against Arsenal in their 2-1 loss, earned him only a single start in the following 10 games in the season. The 27-year-old will be hoping for a fresh start with PSG in the coming season.

"I am very happy to join Paris Saint-Germain. What I know about PSG is that they are a team who have won all possible titles in France last season. They're very important," Di Maria said, as quoted by Sky Sports.

"They made it to the quarter-finals of the Champions League so my objective was to arrive to Paris and to help them through the quarter-final barrier, because they have struggled in the past two seasons.

"I will try to do the best I can to help the club in those objectives and reach the final stages of the Champions League," he added.
