Manchester United are preparing a move for Paris Saint-Germain starlet Adrien Rabiot, according to the Daily Mail.

The Red Devils are looking to strengthen their squad and the talented midfielder will be a good addition to the team which is in need of a makeover. Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City are also interested and are preparing a cut-price move for the player, who has only one year left in his contract.

The 19-year-old is looking for more game time, having failed to find the same with the French giants and would prefer a move to a club which will be able to start him on a weekly basis.

Louis van Gaal is looking to revamp the squad after taking over from interim manager Ryan Giggs. The Red Devils finished the season in seventh spot, 22 points behind Champions Manchester City.

Rabiot is unlikely to get a starting spot at United, who are also in the market to sign Roma enforcer Kevin Strootman and are looking at moves for Jordy Clasie and Thomas Muller to fill the void in midfield.

Meanwhile, former United stopper Edwin van der Sar believes that new goalkeeping coach Frans Hoek will improve David de Gea even further as the coach had played an important role in his own development.

"He groomed me and helped me learn all the things I needed to know to be a successful footballer over a lot of years," van der Sar told ManUtd.com

"Like Louis van Gaal, he's really exact with his exercises – they both put a lot of thought into them. He was one of the first guys I know who connected the goalkeepers with defenders and midfielders in terms of exercises.

"It wasn't only about practising goalkicks as a keeper – he would think about the different situations you might yourself be in during a game and try to find exercises and drills for us that he would combine with the outfield players," he added.
