A new biographical comic on the life of Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe is to hit store shelves on Wednesday (April 24).

The 33-page comic titled "Tribute: Marilyn Monroe" follows the colourful life of the star - from her humble beginnings moving from foster home to foster home, to her first marriage to a local boy and her rise to fame.

It highlights her career as the original blonde bombshell and the legacy she has left in popular culture after her untimely death in 1962.

The comic is part of Bluewater Comics' "Tribute line", that tells the stories of classic entertainers that have passed on.

The book will retail for $3.99 (£2.60) in stores or $1.99 (£1.30) online that can be downloaded for mobile devices such as iPad, Kindle and Nook.
