Major superhero movies and Disney additions stall the release date of Inhumans Marvel Comics

Inhumans, the film starring the royal family of superheroes, has been officially taken off Disney's release list as of now, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed. On Friday (22 April), Marvel Studios broke the news very late in the afternoon to avoid any major hassles from fans over the disappointing news. Originally, Inhumans was scheduled for a 2 November 2018 release, which was later postponed to 12 July 2019.

Addressing rumours that were afloat about another superhero movie — Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 — pushing Inhumans to the backburner, Feige said it's not if but "a matter of when" the film finally takes off. Although Inhumans was officially announced as a part of Marvel's phase 3 line-up, several additions have been made since 2014.

Feige told the Collider: "Since we made our initial phase three announcement, we added Spider-Man, which was a big joyous coup for us. We added Ant-Manand the Wasp, which was a big fun continuation of that story for us. Walt Disney Company has announced an Indiana Jones film for right around that same time. So I think it will shuffle off the current date that it's [Inhuman] on right now,"

Speculations suggest that the widening gap between Marvel's TV and movie section could be responsible for the repeated delays in the making of Inhumans — a race of superpower people who first appeared in The Fantastic Four (December 1965) and later during the second instalment of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Neither has the superhero movie been allotted a director nor any star casting, though Vin Diesel had earlier sparked rumours of playing Black Bolt in the film.
