Overview

Djokovic had no trouble in progressing to the fourth round of the 2014 Sony Open Tennis tournament as his opponent Florian Mayer pulled out of the competition due to a groin injury.

Entering the tournament with a bye in the first round, the Serbian had earlier defeated Jeremy Chardy, 6-4, 6-3, in the second round.

The three-time winner in Miami is now pitted against Tommy Robredo, who overcame Frenchman Julien Benneteau in the third round on Sunday. The Spaniard needed a little over 78 minutes to send his opponent packing in straight sets with the score, 6-3, 6-4.

Djokovic crashed out of last year's competition at the same stage against Tommy Haas. However, the world number two will be keen on preventing history from repeating itself as a potential clash against defending champion Andy Murray awaits him in the quarterfinals.

Head-To-Head

Djokovic holds a 5-1 lead against Robredo in overall meetings between the two.

The Serbian has a comfortable 5-0 lead in the last five meetings against the Spaniard, which includes two victories in Grand Slam events.
