Microsoft releases Windows 10 Mobile
New Windows 10 Mobile preview build rolling out to Insiders Microsoft

Microsoft has pushed out another Windows 10 Mobile preview build bearing version number 10586.107 for members of the Windows Insiders Programme. The cumulative update is now available for Insiders in Slow ring, after it made its way through the Fast ring.

As usual, the build bundles an array of fixes that includes a fix for missing tiles on the start screen. Other improvements are multiple language support and device reset experience enhancements when BitLocker encryption is enabled.

Alongside the preview rollout, Microsoft has introduced a new ring named Release Preview for both PC and mobile, which primarily focuses on Insiders who want to stay on the current build based on 10586. But they would continue to receive updates for preview, apps and driver, but with minimal risk to devices.

Of the total three rings – Fast, Slow and Release Preview – Microsoft makes the build and feature updates first available for Fast ring users. The early access provides Insiders an opportunity to identify issues and provide feedback to make the operating system more robust and smooth.

The Slow ring is for Insiders who enjoy early access to the preview builds with less risk for the Windows phone devices, unlike the Fast ring users. If you want to taste the latest preview, use the Windows Device Recovery Tool to revert to the Windows Phone 8.1 version, and then enrol your phone to receive the builds.

The announcement of the preview was heralded by Gabriel Aul, corporate vice-president, Engineering System Team at Microsoft, who said: "Over the past few Cumulative Updates for Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10586, we have addressed feedback we have received from Windows Insiders on the upgrade experience from Windows Phone 8.1 to Windows 10 mobile."
