Defending champion Marc Marquez was the fastest during the 2015 Grand Prix of The Americas as the Honda rider took pole for Sunday's race at The Circuit of the Americas.

Qualifying review

Marquez clinched his first pole of the season after he extended his practice session form to Saturday. The Spaniard clocked a time of 2:02.135s and was 0.339s ahead of second place Ducati rider Andrea Dovizioso, who took pole in the first race of the season in Qatar.

Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo was third and he, along with Marquez and Dovizioso will lock horns for the front row at The Circuit of the Americas. Winner of the opening race Valentino Rossi will start Sunday's race from fourth spot.

Britain star and LCR rider Cal Crutchlow was sixth with a time of 2:02.613s, while Tech 3 riders Pol Espargaro and Bradley Smith managed to finish in top 10 as they are in ninth and 10<sup>th spot respectively.
