Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards
Working his way into the family: Malik reportedly paid £200,000 for a new house for Perrie Edwards' mother.

He may have proposed to Perrie Edwards just a few months ago but it looks like One Direction's Zayn Malik is already vying for the Best Son-in-Law award after reportedly buying his fiancée's mother Debbie Duffy a new house.

According to a source close to the 21-year-old star, Malik, who is worth £14m, paid over £200,000 for the new property so that the Little Mix songstress would not have to fork out for a mortgage for her mum.

"Debbie has been saying how she's got a new house," a source told The Sun. "Perrie was going to get the mortgage for her and then Zayn offered to buy it outright.

"She is just moving stuff in now. It costs more than £200,000 and is a new build. He's a really nice chap for buying the house," the insider added.

This is not the first time Malik's actions have impressed his future mother-in-Law.

Duffy previously revealed that Malik left her in tears when he asked her for her daughter's hand in marriage.

"He did the traditional asking me and then asking his mum and dad and everything, and it was fabulous, just lovely," Duffy said.

"I was like a little emotional and, like, ahhhhhh, it was so lovely and I just thought it was adorable."
