Another court case for a Pistorius looks likely, with Oscar's brother Carl facing charges over a near-fatal car crash.

Carl Pistorius, 29, suffered respiratory failure and was left with both his legs in traction following the heavy smash last August.

The older brother of the fallen track idol appeared in a wheelchair to support the Blade Runner during his murder trial as a result of his injuries.

Prosecutors in Johannesburg have decided to press ahead with charges over the head-on crash on a highway.

Police spokesman Ronel Otto said: "Investigating officers obtained the statements of the other parties involved as well as a few witnesses. Despite several efforts and attempts, we could not obtain a statement from him. The docket was then sent to court. The prosecutor then instructed that he should be charged."

Carl has visited younger brother Oscar in prison, where he is serving five years for culpable homicide.
