The Academy Awards is one of the most prestigious in the already glamorous world of Hollywood and the Oscars 2013 proved to be no exception to the rule. The actual awards ceremony is only the second half of the evening.

The first is the red carpet arrivals... and this is where fashion statements are made or a poor wardrobe choice tweeted around the world considerable disdain.

Some sashay down the carpet with head-turning looks, bringing massive doses of style. And some others turn up as complete fashion disasters.

As the 85th Academy Awards kicks-off, check out some of the worst dressed celebrities on the big night. They ought to be warned... fashion critics have already started placing them on the worst dressed list.

To start with, Anne Hathaway did it again.

After a trail of recent wardrobe malfunctions, the Les Misérables star opted for a pale pink Prada gown and sadly she doesn't quite seemed to have pulled off the look. The ribbons on the back don't really help her cause any either!

Meanwhile, other stars who may be guilty of a fashion faux pas are Robin Roberts, Good Morning America host Lara Spencer, Jane Fond and comedienne Melissa McCarthy, to name a few.
