Rising Pune Supergiants take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in match 40 of the 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL) at Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy Stadium, Visakhapatnam on 10 May (Tuesday).

Overview

Nothing is going right for the Dhoni-led Pune team who are in the bottom half of the table winning just three games out of the 10 played so far. The batting is looking like its finally coming good, especially Ajinkya Rahane who is in fine nick scoring 417 runs in 10 games at an average of 52 while Saurabh Tiwary has chipped in with important knocks.

The biggest problem for the Supergiants has been the performance of the middle order, with Dhoni and co failing to score runs at a quick rate. Usman Khawaja and George Bailey are yet to make substantial scores while the bowling has performed in fits and starts.

R Ashwin has struggled for form. He bowled only one over in their last game against Bangalore. They will need to win every game from now if they are to qualify for the play-off stages.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have surprised everyone with their performances. With 12 points from nine games, David Warner's side are in the running for a play-off spot. Warner aside, Shikhar Dhawan has finally got back into form as seen by his displays over the past three games. His match-winning knock of 82 from 57 balls against Mumbai showed why he is so valued in Indian cricket.

The best bowling line-up in the competition continues to bamboozle batsman with Mustafizur Rahman probably the MVP of the league so far.
