Bacary Sagna is reportedly set to leave Arsenal for free in order to join Manchester City in the summer.

A report by Le10Sport claims that the 31-year-old has set his sights on joining the Citizens. It also states that Sagna is already in negotiations and will move to the Etihad unless there is a significant change in the right-back's situation.

Sagna's contract with Arsenal is due to expire next month and manager Arsene Wenger is unable to fulfil his intentions of retaining his compatriot for the upcoming campaign.

The 64-year-old had revealed that a new contract has already been made available to Sagna but the full-back is refusing to commit his future.

A report by Daily Mail states that the French international was offered a two-year deal with an option to extend his deal for another year. However, his desire to pocket wages of £100,000 per week was not being met and he rejected the offer.

As Wenger looks resigned to losing his trusted right-back after seven years of service, he is reportedly looking to fill the void by targetting Callum Chambers from Southampton.

Sagna's prospective move to the Citizens will not be received pleasantly by the Arsenal faithful. Over the last few years, the Gunners have seen some of their star players trade their allegiance from north London to Manchester.

Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy continue to remain in the books at the Etihad and it will certainly be a welcome sight for them should their compatriot too join forces with them in Manchester.

Manuel Pellegrini currently has Pablo Zabaleta as his first-choice right-back alongside Dedryck Boyata and Micah Richards to provide cover for the Argentinean. The latter will enter the final year of his contract this summer and has been linked with a move to Liverpool during the upcoming transfer window.

Sagna looks to have played his last game at the Emirates as Arsenal beat West Bromwich Albion 1-0 last Sunday.

Although one defender looks en route to leave the Gunners this summer, another of Wenger's back four will reportedly commit his long-term future to the north London club.

Le10Sport suggests that Laurent Koscielny will sign a new deal to add two more years to his current contract. The centre-back has over three years left in his current contract and will affirm his loyalty till 2019.

Recently, the 28-year-old was the subject of a purported interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid with reigning French champions Paris Saint-Germain believed to be keeping a watchful eye on his contract negotiations.
