Scream Queens has been renewed for season 2 and this time, show creator Ryan Murphy, is planning to take the plot to a creepy new location. Season 1 of the hit Fox show was based on a Red Devil serial killer, who went on a murder rampage at the Kappa Kappa Tau sorority house at Wallace University.

Now, according to a statement, the network has hinted that the show will dump the university for season two and will turn more frightening with an all new plot at a hospital. With Murphy being the creator and director of the show, fans can expect season 2 to tell a tale of mystery and suspense coupled with gory murders.

The synopsis of season 2 reads as follows: (via Fox)

"Season Two of Scream Queens graduates from the college campus and into an all-new location, as a terrifyingly funny murder mystery will begin once again. This time, the show will be set in a hospital, where some of the most fascinating and bizarre medical cases are under observation. Casting to be announced at a later date."

Although the network is yet to announce the cast members of the upcoming show, Lea Michele (Hester) and Emma Roberts (Chanel) were delighted after the show's second season was announced.

"Surprise bitches...bet you thought you'd seen the last of her [Chanel]," Roberts wrote on her Instagram, confirming her return on the show.

Meanwhile, Glee star Michele, revealed that Hester too will be back. "OMG I couldn't be happier right now!!!! Scream Queens Season 2!!!! This is the best news ever!!!! We're back," she twitted using #herecomesHester.

It remains to be seen, whether Hester and Chanel would become a nightmare for patients at the hospital in the upcoming season.

In the season one finale, Hester was revealed as the other child of the bathtub twins. The naive, neckbrace-wearing girl was one of the Red Devil killers (her foster mother Gigi and twin brother Boone were the other two) who murdered KKT inmates to avenge their mother's death.

The show ended with Hester leaving her past to live happily with her new family – Grace and Zayday. On the other hand, Chanel and her minions were sent to a mental asylum, where the former Kappa queen was at ease.

According to Deadline, the upcoming season could mark the return of Jamie Lee Curtis (Dean Munsch), Abigail Breslin (Chanel #5), Keke Palmer (Zayday) and Billie Lourd (Chanel #3).

Fox is yet to announce the premiere date of Scream Queens season 2.
