The love affair between Bollywood and Hollywood is reaching new heights as the king of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan, gets a new fan in Hollywood movie director Brett Ratner.

The Chennai Express star, who was recently named the second richest actor in the world, has been invited to the premiere of Ratner's upcoming fantasy thriller, Hercules.

In a series of tweets Ratner complimented the Indian superstar and invited him to the premiere of his forthcoming movie.

"My favorite actors ever are John Cazale, Sterling Hayden, Peter Sellers, Timothy Carey, John Cassavetes... And of course Shah Rukh Khan, Robert Deniro and Al Pacino," the acclaimed movie director tweeted.

Floored by Ratner's gesture, Khan tweeted back saying, "Thank you so much.. That's quite a compliment."

This is not the first time a Bollywood star has impressed a Hollywood director.

Earlier this month, another Indian movie star, Hrithik Roshan, was seen dining with The Fast and the Furious director Rob Cohen in Mumbai.

The meeting has sparked rumours that Cohen may cast the Bollywood hunk in his upcoming action thriller film.

Meanwhile, the Bollywood superstar is all set for the 2014 Fifa World Cup that kicks off tonight in Brazil.

Khan, a sports lover, tweeted that he will be glued to the television till the tournament's final.
