The Simpsons returns from hiatus with an all-new episode on 24 April, where Homer Simpson and Ned Flanders will be seen at the Grand Canyon on a family vacation. Episode 12 is titled, Fland Canyon, which airs on Sunday at 8pm EST on Fox Network.
The official synopsis of the episode reads as follows:
The couch gag for the episode is performed by veteran animator Eric Goldberg and will feature a tribute to classic Disney characters. Goldberg is known for his work on Disney flicks such as Aladdin, Pocahontas and Hercules.
In the opening sequence, Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart and Maggie all take on various Disney characters.
Homer's look is inspired from The Jungle Book's Ballu and Marge's look will remind fans of Snow White, Lisa seems like Cinderella, who will be carried in a huge pumpkin carriage and blessed with a beautiful dress. Maggie will be the classic Mickey Mouse and Bart would be Fantasia Mickey. In the gag, Bart will be seen using his magic to bring back all the characters back to The Simpson universe.
According to the latest promo, Ned and Homer are walking through the Grand Canyon, appreciating the night sky. "Have you ever seen stars so bright Homer? Blessed it is the beauty of our lord," says Ned, and imagines God putting all the stars in the sky with his hand.
Homer, on the other hand, imagines God firing a bullet with his gun, to make stars in the night sky. Do you think the Simpsons will bond with the Flanders? Watch The Simpsons season 27 episode 12 to find out more.
